In summary, the western half of the Little River floodplain within the project area was tested by six deep backhoe tests spaced at 100 yard (91 meter) intervals. No cultural material or features were observed.

Location: This project involves the reconstruction of the I-85/I-285 intersection in DeKalb County. UI-285-1(95) extends from Buford Highway east to Henderson Road for a distance of 2.99 miles.

In order to obtain clearance for a 404 permit for a box culvert on new alignment at Mountain Creek, an archaeological survey was performed. The project is part of the widening and paving of S.R. 195 from Methvins north to Eastland.

State Route 50 from Sylvester west to the county line will be widened to four lanes. Some additional right-of-way must be purchased, but with the exception of the sketch of alignment bounded to the south by Seaboard Coast Railroad; no firm alternates have been decided on.

The project involves the widening of U.S. 129/S.R. 11 on existing right‑of‑way from the present end of the four‑lane section north of Macon, for 11 miles into the City of Gray. No additional right‑of‑way will be acquired.

Upon request to conduct a survey of the school for possible future expansion and the addition of two buildings to the southern side of the present school, the Archaeologist began her planning prior to the field work. The G.S.U.

Enclosed is a copy of the archaeological survey report for this bridge replacement. Two sites - 9Go4 and 9Go5 were located within the project limits.

Planning: The study corridor was drawn on the county map as well as the Ludville and Jasper Quad sheets. Salacoa and Rock Creeks were the only initial areas of concern. The G.S.U. Archaeological Site Files listed only some Wauchope sites near Long Swamp Creek.

Enclosed is a copy of the archaeological survey report for these State-Aid bridge replacement projects. In the opinion of our staff archaeologist, the cultural resources of the state will not be affected by the projects.

Enclosed is a copy of the archaeological survey report for the proposed bridge replacement over Devil‘s Branch in Effingham County. It is the opinion of the staff archaeologist that there will be no effect to the State's cultural resources by this project.
