Report Abstracts

From July 18 to September 13, 1994 an archaeological field crew from West Georgia College conducted excavations at the base, on the slopes, and on the summit of Mounds A and B at the Etowah site in Bartow County, Georgia.

This proposal addresses a request by Tribble & Richardson, Inc. to conduct archeological investigations on a portion of the Arthur Tarver archeological site, in Jones County, Georgia.

This report contains the results of an archaeological survey, conducted by Garrow and Associates, Inc., of the immediate development tract in Effingham County, Georgia which may be selected for the Fort Howard Paper Company plant site.

This document has been prepared for use in completion of applicable Section 106 procedures in compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966 and subsequent amendments.

Garrow and Associates conducted archaeological testing Site 28, an early nineteenth century farmstead, in Effingham County development tract for the proposed Fort Howard Paper Company plant site. A crew of six spent a total of eleven days testing Site 28.

Environmental Corporation of America (ECA) has completed an Archaeological Assessment for the federal undertaking at the subject site. The subject site includes a proposed 100-foot by 126-foot lease area as shown on Attachment 12b.

New Echota, the first capitol of the Cherokee Nation, 1825-1838, located in present Gordon County, Georgia, is a National Historic Landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The proposed project concept for NH-0001-00 (297) consists of the construction of a new multimodal roadway for Northside Drive (US 41/SR 3) to the Atlantic Station development.

On April 16 and 17, 1996, R. S. Webb & Associates conducted an intensive cultural resources survey of the roads/utility corridors within the Phase Ill tract at the 700-acre Silver Creek development site (i.e., the "project area") in Forsyth County, Georgia (Figure 1).

A Phase II archaeological testing investigation was conducted at site 9HT8 from September 21 through Septemper 28, 1992 by Garrow & Associates, Inc. for the United States Air Force. The site is located in the southeastern portion of Robins Air Force Base in Houston County, Georgia.
