Increasing pressure, in the form of development, has been placed on the barrier islands situated off the coast of the southern United States. There has been an effort on the part of some to mediate the impact this development will have on the natural and cultural resources.

The proposed Mineola substation site, Lowndes County, Georgia, was surveyed in order to locate and assess any archaeological sites which might exist on the property. No sites were found.

An archeological and botanical survey was requested for the Lawrence Creek area of Paulding County, Georgia, prior to construction of improved wastewater treatment facilities. The survey is located in Districts 2 and 3, 3rd Section, of original Cherokee County.
