Report of visits to archaeological areas by Marilyn Pennington and Phillip Condrey from March 18-24, 1973.

The site files at Georgia State University had a number of sites listed for Laurens County, all of which were located by the 1965 Heart of Georgia Survey. Sites were reported along Turkey Creek, but not at the bridge replacement.

The Williams Site is the fourth archaeological site to be excavated under the highway salvage program in Georgia. This program began actively in June of 1959 and should continue throughout the period of Interstate construction. Instrumental in the forming of this program in Georgia were Mr.
