Report Abstracts

This report documents and evaluates the six hydroelectric generating plants of the North Georgia Project. The project is owned and operated by the Georgia Power Company and is licensed as Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Project #2354.

In August 1987, the Georgia Power Company began the first stage consultation for the relicensing of the Langdale and Riverview Hydroelectric Projects (FERC #2341 and 2350, respectively). This action occurred as a direct result of the Company's compliance with 18 CFR Ch. 1.

The proposed Wallace Dam at Laurens Shoals will flood parts of the Oconee and Apalachee Valleys to a point 435.6 feet above sea level. Counties to be affected by flooding will be Greene, Hancock, Morgan and Putnam. The Georgia Power Company plans to have the dam completed in 1975.
