The above referenced 2.2± acre borrow pit, located directly adjacent to Highway 5 approximately 0.75 mile north of the intersection of S . R. 5 and S. R. 166, has been reviewed for wetlands, threatened and endangered species, archaeological resources, and historical resources.

Project EDS-84(9) consists of the proposed widening and reconstruction of U.S. 84/S.R. 38 from County Road 195 at Dixie to approximately 1000 feet east of County Road 272 (Talloaks Road) in Quitman.

The project will consist in the leveling and resurfacing of SR 103 in Harris County beginning at SR 219 (MP 0.00) and extending northwest to end at SR 18 (MP 13.92) in Troup County. A 0.60 meter paved shoulder will be constructed at various locations throughout the project.

The above referenced borrow pit, located approximately 400 feet south of Lakewood Avenue east of Macon Road, has been reviewed for wetlands, threatened and endangered species, archaeological resources, and historical resources. Attached is a sketch depicting the new pit boundary?

The above referenced 3. 49± acre borrow pit, located 1. 5 miles north of the referenced project, has been reviewed for wetlands, threatened and endangered species, archaeological resources, and historical resources.

Phillip Scarborough, District 2 Environmentalist, has reviewed the above referenced 0.57± acre borrow pit for wetlands, threatened and endangered species, archaeological resources, and historical resources. The above referenced borrow pit is located approximately 0.1 mile north of C.R.

A field investigation was made on the above site by Randall Carr on August 22, 1995. This area is an old local material pit. Ross of Georgia Inc. is proposing to use this site for a soil cement plant and as a common fill site for excess material on the above project.

This project is to provide for improvement of left turn lanes & signalization at the intersection of S.R. 22 Spur at Avalon Road in Columbus. The purpose of the project is to Widen S.R.

This document has been prepared for use in completion of applicable Section 106 procedures in compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966 and subsequent amendments.
