The site files at Georgia State University had no sites recorded in the vicinity of the project. The alignment was plotted on the Riverdale U.S.G.S. topographic map and aerial photography in order to predict areas of site probability.

This project is the improvement and paving of an 11 mile portion of S.R. 107 from U.S. 441 to the Coffee/Jeff Davis County line. S.R. 107 is presently unpaved. The improvements include widening to two lanes and some straightening of curves (see map).

This project involves the widening of Alpharetta Street in Roswell from Canton Street to Holcomb Bridge Road. The road would be widened from two and three lanes to five lanes. Eighty-six feet of right-of-way would be needed, and existing right-of-way varies between 50 and 80 feet.

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the following Georgia DOT projects were surveyed for cultural resources:

11084 Alston, Robert L. Archaeological Survey of Bridge Replacement Projects, RS-1360(3), Gilmer County

Because the projects are in-place, no new areas will be impacted. For this reason no archaeological field inspection is necessary and the archaeological resources of the State will not be affected. RS-1360 (3) Coosawattee River Bridge on SR 282 - Existing bridge is to be retained and widened.

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, Georgia DOT Project F-034-1(12) was subjected to an archaeological survey intended to locate sites either on, or that could be considered eligible for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places.
