In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the following Georgia DOT Projects were subjected to archaeological surveys intended to locate sites either on, or that could be considered eligible for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places.

Archaeological Survey, RS-953(9), Effingham County: In compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 the above project in Effingham County has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those which may be eligible for inclusion to the National Register of

Georgia DOT project BHF-154-1(2) is an in-place bridge replacement over Town Creek on S.R. 128 in Macon County. Because the project is in-place no new areas will be impacted and only areas disturbed by previous bridge construction will be affected.

Please advise the GDOT Archaeologist as to whether these projects will be on new or existing alignment. Plan and profile sheets should be forwarded to the archaeologist if available.

The following bridge replacement projects in District VI will be constructed or widened along the existing alignment:

BRSLB-2917(2), Chattooga County

BHS-0856(8) Gilmer County

RS-1360(3) Gi1mer County

BHF-082-1(4) Murray County

BHF-082-1 (15) Murray County

This project includes a series of bridge projects, but this report deals with BRZLB-0217(4) located in Newton County. As the bridge replacements will be in-place, causing no further disruption of the right-of-way, there should not be an adverse impact on the State’s archaeological resources.

This is a bridge project, BRZLB-079(1), located in Crawford County.

This is a bridge project, BR0LB-061(1), located in Clay County. This project is a part of projects being done in District 4 and the survey methods used were visual inspection of ground surfaces and small shovel tests. The bridge is located near Bluffton, Clay County.

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the following bridge projects were surveyed for archaeological material. The bridge in this report was BRZLB-055(2) located in Chattooga County.

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the following bridge projects were surveyed for archaeological material. The bridge in this report is BRS-1778(9) located in Bartow County.
