Report Abstracts

In November of 2000, Environmental Services, Inc. (ESI) conducted an intensive cultural resource assessment survey of a 300 square meter area that is the proposed location of the St. Simons Island Well at Proctor and Mallory Streets on St. Simons Island in Glynn County, Georgia.

Wildlife Resources Division, Georgia Department of Natural Resources, is preparing a management plan for the 440 acre Broad River Natural Area in Madison County. At the request of WRD, an archaeological reconnaissance survey was conducted on 23 and 24 August.

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, as amended, Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) archeologists recorded and minimally test excavated a prehistoric site, 9BK399, on the south side of Rosemary Creek in Burke County, Georgia.

On January 9,2001, a pedestrian survey within Watson Mill State Park was completed.

In October 1995, Garrow & Associates, Inc., under a contract with Columbia Engineering, completed a cultural resource survey for the proposed intersection improvements for the realignment of Rockdale Circle, Georgia Highway 84, and U.S. Highway 78, Gwinnett County, Georgia.

In 1998, Brockington and Associates, Inc., conducted an archaeological survey of a 16 km (10 mile) long corridor along US 441 /SR 15 extending north from the Tallulah River to the city of Clayton, Georgia.

On May 17, 2000 Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. (SAS) conducted a Phase I intensive cultural resources survey for the proposed replacement of the S. R. 155 bridge over Little Cotton Indian Creek in Henry County, Georgia.

New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of the Ocmulgee East road improvements and widening, Bibb County, Georgia on October 22 and 23, 1998.

The archeological survey of the proposed realignment of Rocky Creek Road (C.R. 158) and new bridge over the Little Towaliga River found no archeological sites within the proposed new right-of-way.
