Report Abstracts

During July 2000 Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. (SAS), under contract with the Wildlife Resources Division of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), conducted a Phase II site testing investigation in the Ocmulgee Wildlife Management Area (WMA).

This report outlines the results of New South Associates' archaeological survey and testing of the proposed Georgia Department of Transportation's (GDOT) widening and re-alignment of USl9/SR3 between Americus and Butler in southwestern Georgia.

Greenhorne & O'Mara, Inc., under contract to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GaDOT), conducted an archaeological survey of an approximately 4.5 mile-long (7.2 kilometer-long) corridor along a portion of Route 46 in Treutlen and Wheeler Counties, Georgia.

New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of the proposed eastern bypass of the city of Winder in Barrow County Georgia. The study corridor encompassed 5.5 miles of 250 to 300 feet of right-of-way along existing roads and new location.

On June 6, 2000 an archeological survey was conducted within the area of potential effect for a proposed reconstruction of the existing intersection of five-laved Roswell Road and fivelaned Northridge Drive, in northern Fulton County.

On April 21, 2000, Brockington and Associates, Inc., conducted an archaeological resources survey for the proposed widening of the McCalla Road intersection in Rockdale County, Georgia. This work was completed under contract with Moore Bass Consulting.
