Report Abstracts

A Phase I Archaeological Survey was conducted by New South Associates in August and September, 2001 of areas planned for use in the Athens-Atlanta Rail Corridor. These areas included proposed station locations and additional track locations.

In October 2001, Brockington and Associates, Inc., conducted an intensive archaeological resources survey at the proposed bridge replacements in Marion County, Georgia. This investigation was carried out under contract with The LPA Group, Inc., for the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) wishes to replace the bridges on State Route 37 (SR 37) that cross Cat Creek and Withlacoochee River in Cook and Berrien Counties, Georgia (Figure 1).

New South Associates conducted a Phase I Archaeological Survey of the proposed improvements to Houston Avenue between Pio Nono Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard, City of Macon, Bibb County, Georgia.

In October 2000, Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. conducted a Phase I survey of a ca. 57 ha (140 ac) tract of land in the floodplain of the Conasauga River in western Murray County.

The survey described here was designed to locate and evaluate archeological sites in the area of a bridge replacement project proposed by the Georgia Department of Transportation on the southern border of Georgia.

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) wishes to replace an aging bridge along State Route 19 (SR 19) over Whitewater Creek, in rural central Georgia (Figure I).

New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of a portion of LaGrange Bypass in Troup County, Georgia.

In early February 2002, Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. (SAS) conducted an intensive archeological survey of the proposed widening of a 5 km (3.3 mi) length of 1-75 from Pierce Avenue to Arkwright Road in Macon, Georgia.
