3603 Joseph, Joseph W. Historical & Archaeological Investigations of a Corduroy Road Segment along US 80; Effingham & Chatham Counties, Georgia

Road construction for the widening of US 80 in Chatham County, Georgia, near the Effingham/Chatham County line, identified an area of corduroy road construction underlying the existing highway. Corduroy roads were made of logs, placed side by side to form a solid surface for traffic and transit.

The proposed project would reconstruct the existing interchange on Interstate 75 (I-75) and County Road (CR) 418/Omega-Eldorado Road (Exit 55) in Tift County.

Akers Mill Road is located in Cobb County, Georgia. The project corridor begins at Cumberland Blvd SE and ends at Camp Parkway. The project corridor crosses both US 41 and I-75. The project will enhance the pedestrian streetscape with a sidewalk and the addition of a multi-use path.

The proposed project would consist of expanding the NaviGAtor system in DeKalb and Gwinnett Counties in order to provide traffic monitoring and surveillance and ramp meters on US 78 from the Lawrenceville Highway/US 29 interchange to the intersection with East Park Place Boulevard.
