This report documents the results of the cultural resources survey for GSS Project 021038 Lucille, located in Forsyth County, Georgia.

Site 9ST272 was identified during the Phase I cultural resources survey of the proposed Currahee Development Tract in Stephens County, Georgia (Quirk and Parson 2006).

A Phase I cultural resources survey of the proposed Currahee development site in Stephens County, Georgia was conducted to locate and identify cultural resources within the project area and assess resource significance.

The proposed project would widen Washington Road for a distance of approximately 4,000 feet (0.75 mile) between Flowing Wells Road and Club Car Road. The existing roadway would be widened up to 14 feet in order to accommodate a median turn lane.

The proposed project would replace the bridge over Big Indian Creek with two new bridges on existing alignment. The main bridge over Big Indian Creek would be approximately 319 feet long and 30 feet wide. The overflow bridge would be approximately 90 feet long and 30 feet wide.

The proposed project was originally surveyed with concurrence received in 2001.

Phase I cultural resources survey and Phase II archeological testing were conducted for a proposed 1,817-acre development tract in Spalding County, Georgia. The study resulted in the recordation of 90 archeological sites, one historic cemetery, and 20 isolated finds.
