Report Abstracts

In July of 2006, Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. (SAS) conducted a Phase I archeological survey of approximately 7.4 km (4.6 mi) of a proposed 115 kV transmission line corridor and 3.2 ha (8 ac) of a substation tract in eastern Henry County, Georgia.

This survey acts as an addendum to previous studies conducted for the proposed widening of the Fall Line Freeway. This survey focused on eight locations within a portion of the Fall Line Freeway that runs from CR 186 in Balwin County to CR 342 in Washington County.

This project proposes to change the original project design as follows: 1. Re-design the left side ditch from Station 28+30 to 224+00 to minimize impacts to GPC transmission lines and reduce the right-of-way requirements on the left side. 2.

This project serves as an addendum to a previous Phase I archaeological survey conducted in advance of a proposed bridge replacement at SR 83 over Big Sandy Creek (Gardner and Wills 2003).

The proposed project location is near the Habersham County Airport in the adjoining industrial park. The proposed project would construct of a new alignment road connecting existing Industrial Park Road (Phase 1) with Duncan Bridge Road in Habersham County, Georgia.

This project serves as an addendum to a previous archaeological resources survey conducted in advance of a proposed bridge replacement where SR 154 crosses Bear Creek (Gardner and Jenkins 2003).
