During July, August, and November 1983, a cultural resource survey was conducted on a total of 6,850 acres in the Chattahoochee National Forest in Rabun County, Georgia. The use of a non-probability survey design located eleven prehistoric and two historic sites in the survey area.

On March 22, 1983, a cultural resource survey was conducted on a total of 344 acres in the Tallulah Ranger District of the Chattahoochee National Forest in Rabun County, Georgia. The survey area included 126 acres in proposed timber sale units.

From October 17-19, 1983, a cultural resource survey was conducted by the author on 822 acres in the Chattooga Ranger District of the Chattahoochee National Forest. The survey located three prehistoric sites and three historic sites in the survey area.

A cultural resource survey was conducted by the author on 107 acres in the Chestatee Ranger District of the Chattahoochee National Forest on April 11, 1983. The survey area, located on Justus Creek, included 21 acres of proposed timber sales in Stands No. 41 and 47.
