Report Abstracts

This project proposes to widen U.S. 441/S.R. 31 from U.S. 82 in Pearson to the current 4 lane in Douglas -- a distance of 12.5 miles. A corridor consistent with the proposed rights-of-way was surveyed for the entire length of the project.

An archaeological survey (Level I ) was conducted in accordance with "GDOT Archaeological Survey Guidelines" developed by the GDOT Staff Archaeologists in consultation with DNR Historic Preservation Section Staff and concurred in by the Federal Highway Administration and State Historic Preservat

The proposed project would widen SR 135/US 221 from SR 206 Connector to just south of CR 146, and from approximately 260.60 m (855 ft) south of CR 148 to approximately 201.17 m (660 ft) north of CR 148. Additionally, CR 148 will be realigned to intersect SR 135/US 221 at 90 degrees.

The project involves the replacement of the bridge over Seventeen Mile River on S.R. 31/U.S. 441. The bridge will be replaced within the existing 100200 feet of right-of-way.

The proposed project is an intersection improvement on S.R. 158 and C.R. 553/McDonald Road in the City of Douglas. The intent of the project is to add a center left turn lane at all four approaches at this intersection. The existing right-of-way on S.R.

The proposed project consists of the widening and reconstruction of SR 206/Perimeter Road. The project begins at the intersection of SR 32 and ends at the intersection of US 441/SR 31. The existing two-lane roadway will. be widened symmetrically to a five-lane roadway.

The proposed project consists of the improvement of the intersection of SR 158/Baker Highway and Shirley Avenue in the city of Douglas. The project will begin approximately 106.7 m (350 ft) west of the intersection and will end approximately 213.4 m (700 ft) eastward.

The proposed project consists of the improvement of the intersection of SR 135/US 221 and McDonald Road. The project will add a 4.3 m (14 ft) wide center turn lane at all four approaches at the intersection. No additional right-of-way will be required for the completion of the project.

The proposed project would reconstruct and widen S.R.135/U.S.221 in Douglas. The project as proposed would begin at the intersection of S.R.32 then would extend along existing S.R.135/U.S.221 to the intersection of the North Douglas Bypass/ S.R.206 Conn.

In September 2001, New South Associates began an archaeological assessment and survey of the proposed M & R station for Southern Natural Gas Company (SNG).
