Report Abstracts

From July 16 to August 6, 2012, EPEI conducted a Phase I archaeological and metal detector survey of a portion of Tara Boulevard just south of Jonesboro, Georgia. This Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) project would improve Tara Boulevard from Tara Road north to Flint River Road.

The proposed Fort Valley Stream Mitigation Site is located on the campus of Fort Valley State University in Peach County, Georgia. The site is approximately 9 acres in size and spans SR 894 on the south side of campus. The entire 9 acres was surveyed for cultural resources.

The proposed project is located approximately 4 miles east of I-75 in Valdosta in Lowndes County, Georgia.

Project MLP-894(2) is Phase II of the new access road for Fort Valley State College between SR 49 and State College Drive.

The proposed project will consist of a 1.5 mile long multi-use trail with two bridges over Little Dry Creek: Bridge 1 is near the confluence of Little Dry Creek with the Oostanaula River, near the southern terminus and Bridge 2 is within Tolbert Park near the northern terminus.

The current project area lies within the existing CSX rail bed. The area has been previously affected by road and railway construction, therefore a physical field survey was not conducted.

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 a nd amendments thereto, and the Georgia Environmental Policy Act of 1991, project TSAP-0024(114), Putnam County has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclus

The proposed project would replace the narrow and structurally deficient bridge on CR 212 over Town Creek southwest of Eatonton, Georgia. The existing right-of-way on CR 212 is approximately 30 m (100 ft).

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project EDS-441(4), Putnam County has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

The proposed project would consist of replacing a structurally deficient bridge on SR 98 over Hickory Level Creek, located approximately 3.5 miles southwest of Homer, Georgia.
