In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, the project has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

The proposed project is located along SR 128 in Macon County, Georgia. The project consists of the replacement of the existing bridge located on SR 128 over Horse Creek. The bridge is located approximately 8 miles northeast of the city of Ideal.

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Project PI No. 0014896 would replace the bridge on County Road (CR) 742/Bass Road over the Norfolk-Southern Railroad in Bibb County, Georgia. The structure was constructed in 1938 and is located approximately two miles west of the City of Macon.

GDOT Project Pl No. #0014907 would replace the existing parallel bridges carrying State Route (SR) 4/United States (US) 1 over North Fork Spirit Creek in Richmond County, Georgia (Figures 1 and 2).

The City of Marietta and the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) P.I. No. 0015042 was originally programmed as P.I. No. 0012873 during the Concept Report approval phase. However, the project has been reprogrammed as P.I. No. 0015042.
