The proposed project STP-189-1 (26), Fulton County, P.I. No. 730880 will widen and reconstruct State Bridge Road from Kimball Bridge Road to Medlock Bridge Road, for a distance of 3.54 miles. The existing roadway consists of one-travel lane in each direction with turning lanes in some areas.

Approximately six-tenths of a mile southwest of Georgia, 242 along S-2613 the base of a stemmed quartz projectile point was found. This was located in the ditch along the left-hand side of the road. No other artifacts (points, flakes, pottery, etc.) were found here.

The proposed project begins in Henry County at the intersection of S.R. 155 and S.R. 138 and proceeds east on Highway 138. Presently, S.R. 138 is 20 feet in width and has standard 10-foot shoulders. It is to be upgraded to 24 feet with 10-foot shoulders.

On June 20, 1991, Charles Norris contacted this office regarding a request from Mr. Allen Thomas, Laurens County Clerk of Court, that a GDOT archaeologist investigate an area within the rights-of-way for the above project believed to be a possible location of the grave of Fredric Roberts.
