Report Abstracts

The project area consists of an Isolated Find projectile point located in 2006 by a base employee (Figure 1).

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District (USACE-SAJ) is proposing to dredge the U.S. Navy’s Kings Bay Navigation Channel, which separates Amelia Island, Florida to the south from Cumberland Island, Georgia to the north.

Limited archaeological investigation including visual inspection, passive remote sensing consisting of ground penetrating radar, and hand-excavation of limited test units was conducted at 9DW276 (Rice Farm) located in Dawsonville, Georgia.

New South Associates, Inc. (NSA) conducted a Phase I Archaeological Survey of the proposed

Oglethorpe – Rock Spring Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) Installation Project in Catoosa County,

Archaeological sites 9GE1227 and 9GE1228 were the subject of archaeological test exca­vations by Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest personnel in 1989. A report was never com­pleted and Forest staff were unaware of this work until 2019.

In May 2022, Trileaf Corporation (Trileaf) performed a cultural resource inventory survey for a proposed self-support telecommunications tower located in Nahunta, Brantley County, GA (Latitude: 31° 15 53.28” Longitude: -81° 57’ 36.53”).

This report represents the final report for site 9PM205, the excavation of which was provided for in Appendix 3 of the Archaeological Salvage Agreement between the University of Georgia and the Georgia Power Company.

The Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (VEGP) Transmission Line (TL) includes the Vogtle-Scherer 500 KV Line Route (V-STL) which begins at the VEGP and traverses westward through Burke, Jefferson, Washington, Putnam, Hancock, Baldwin, Jones, and Monroe Counties, Georgia.

Based upon the preliminary work of Charles Siegel, a backhoe testing program was begun within the Wallace Reservoir during February of 1978. The following papers by Siegel should be consulted for background information.

In response to a request from Ignite Wireless, Inc., RESCOM Environmental Corp (RESCOM) has completed a Phase Ia archaeological reconnaissance and records check for a proposed telecommunications tower site in Jackson County, Georgia (Figure 1).
