The Conasauga River drainage basin has figured importantly in the cultural history of the American southeast.

Resource Inventory I and II [RI-I and RI-II] studies were conducted for the North Georgia Hydroelectric Project in Habersham, Rabun, and Stephens Counties, Georgia, and Oconee County, South Carolina.

The 1990 field investigations were successful in locating and investigating the Southeast Corner of the inner stockade line and determining the nature of its construction.

Topographic mapping, metal detector testing, and a test pit were employed in a Phase II archaeological investigation of an approximately 2.5 acre tract of land proposed for exchange at the north end of Skiddy Island State Park.

A Phase II archaeological survey was conducted of an access road and Visitor's Center at Pickett's Mill Civil War Battlefield, a state operated historic site in Georgia.

Archaeological testing was conducted at eight prehistoric sites within the boundaries of a proposed state park on the northwest outskirts of the town of Young Harris in Towns County, Georgia. Seven of the eight sites were on the floodplain and terraces on the west side of Brasstown Creek.

This report presents the results of Phase l/ll cultural resources survey of the Etowah and Spring Creek crossings of the planned 20 mile 12-inch Outer Diameter (O.D.) Gas System of Cartersville pipeline, in Bartow and Floyd counties, Georgia (Figures 1, 2, and 3).

From February 15 through March 5, 1990, Robert S. Webb, Beth Gantt, Sterling Howard, Keith Hemphill and Tim Selby conducted an intensive coverage cultural resources survey of approximately 225 hectares (558 acres) in Habersham County, Georgia for Hayes, Jades & Associates, Inc.

Phase III archaeological excavation of the Glass Site (WGC1583) in the watershed of a tributary of Gum Swamp Creek in Dodge County, Georgia was conducted From July 11 through August 1, 1989. Twelve squares, each measuring two meters on a side were excavated at the site.

This report documents the results of an archaeological survey of a five acre tract proposed for construction of a 115/12kV substation by Oglethorpe Power Corporation in Forsyth County, Georgia.
