Report Abstracts

In September, 1993, a cultural resources survey was conducted on 633 acres of proposed timber sale areas north of Dunaway Gap, on Johns Mountain and 776 acres on Horn Mountain near Blue Springs Branch.

On December 4, 5, and 6, 1991 and on March 13, 1992, New South Associates conducted a Phase I cultural resources survey of the Kennedy Parkway highway project near the intersection of I-75 and I-285 in Cobb County, Georgia for Moreland Altobelli Associates.

In July and August, 1993, a cultural resources survey was conducted on 650 acres of proposed timber sale areas near Mack White Gap in Armuchee Ranger District of Chattahoochee National Forest. Ten archeological sites, eleven artifact occurrences, and two rock pile features were recorded.

In August 1993 an intensive archaeological survey was conducted of 386.10 acres located at the northeastern tip of Sea Island, Glynn County, Georgia.

Brockington and Associates, Inc., conducted cultural resources survey and archaeological site evaluation of the proposed Robins Air Force Base (RAAB) gas pipeline between 17 and 21 May 1993.

This report documents the findings of a Phase I archaeological survey conducted by Garrow & Associates, Inc. for Robins Air Force Base. Fieldwork took place from June 1-29, 1993 over an area of approximately 37.8 acres (15.3 ha). The study area was divided into four sections.

The Savannah Economic Development Authority plans to develop a mixed usage business center in Chatham County, Georgia. Approximately one-third of the 1,784 acres will actually be developed; a large portion of the tract will be utilized as project green space.

Brockington and Associates, Inc., conducted survey and evaluation of archaeological resources for the proposed widening and reconstruction of State Route 22/US Highway 80 during February 1993.

On October 20, 1993, New South Associates conducted additional Phase I archeological survey of SR 120-A Site 1, which lies in the Maddox Street Extension corridor in Alpharetta. The work was conducted for Moreland Altobelli Associates, Inc.

Brockington and Associates, Inc. conducted archaeological resources survey and evaluation of the proposed Parker Road widening corridor, in Rockdale County, Georgia.
