In order to comply with federal regulations regarding cultural resources, Oglethorpe Power Company sponsored an intensive cultural resources survey of a 2.02 ha (5 ac) proposed substation tract on Holly Springs Road in Hall County at the Jackson County line.

Archeological site 9Po27, the Pumpkin Pile site, is a large prehistorically occupied area located in southwestern Polk County, Georgia. It is situated on Pumpkin Pile Creek near the headwaters of the Cedar Creek drainage area (Figure 1-1).
