Report Abstracts

This report documents the preliminary archaeological survey for cultural resources performed within an area to be impacted by construction of the Hurt Road 115/12 kV substation.

During October of 1991 Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. conducted a Phase II survey of a portion of Ft. McAllister State Park and Historic Site in Bryan County on the Ogeechee River. The site is approximately a mile north of Ossabaw Sound and the Atlantic Ocean.

Archaeological survey and testing of Transco Energy Ventures Company's 437 acre tract in Hart County, Georgia, was conducted by Brockington and Associates, Inc., during December 1991. Goals of the project were the location and evaluation of all cultural resources within the tract boundaries.

An archaeological resources survey was conducted on 4.23 miles of proposed new location highway corridor for the Eisenhower Parkway Extension, Bibb County, Georgia. The proposed corridor crosses the Ocmulgee River floodplain south of Macon, Georgia and is 200 feet in width.

Law Environmental, Inc., Kennesaw, Georgia conducted data recovery excavations on Site 9GW144, a late nineteenth-twentieth century farmstead located outside the city limits of Snellville, Georgia in Gwinnett County. Data recovery was primarily conducted between July and September 1991.

Cultural resources survey of Oglethorpe Power Corporation's proposed 3.0 acre Brays 46/25KV substation, in Washington County, Georgia, was conducted in October 1992 by Brockington and Associates, Inc.

In February, 1992, archeologists from the National Park Service, Southeast Archeological Center, Tallahassee, Florida, under a Memorandum of Agreement between the National Park Service, Interagency Archeological Services Division, Southeast Region and the U.S.

New South Associates conducted a cultural resources survey along the proposed Cleveland Bypass project corridor in White County, Georgia on June 16 and 17, 1992.
