Report Abstracts

In March 2018, Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. (VHB) conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of the proposed bridge replacement carrying State Route (SR) 59 over Stephens Creek located in Carnesville, Franklin County, Georgia (PI No. 0013939) (Figures 1 and 2).

A potential bridge replacement has been identified along State Route (SR) 169/ Lones Bridge Rood (Rd)

The purpose of this project is to provide an assessment of the cultural materials recovered from previously inundated sites located within the Carter's Lake Project lands during the 2014 emergency draw down of the reregulation pool located at the southwestern end of Carter's lake, Murray County,

This project proposes the leveling, resurfacing and shoulder building on SR 113 beginning at M.P. 9.95 in Polk County and ending to M.P. 8.23 in Bartow County. All work will take place within the existing right-of-way with no new right-of-way required.

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project FR-074-2(20), Fayette County has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP

100’ x 24’ bridge; no wetland involvement, no potentially significant archaeological resources.

New bridges will have 40’ travelways and a 6’ wide side walk and metal handrails. Approaches begin approximately 240’ south of bridges and extend to approximately 225’ north, for a total length of approximately .3 miles. Proposed widening will be done on east side.

GDOT proposes to replace the two bridges that carry 1-85 over Ridgeway Church Road, which are located approximately 1.3 miles southwest of the l-851nterchange with U.S. Route 441 and 3.3 miles outside of the city or Commerce.
