Archaeological Assessment of a District 4 Resurfacing Project; the proposed project would consist of mainline milling, leveling, and resurfacing, on SR 32 in Terrell County.

The proposed project consists of the replacement of old, structurally inadequate fender systems on five bridges. The existing fender systems, which protect the bridge substructures, cannot withstand too many more collisions.

In compliance with Section I 06 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project STP-M000-00(148) in Glynn County, has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places

All new bridges will be 40’ wide, no additional r/w will be required, bridges will be staged constructed on down stream side.

Project begins approximately 1000 ft. north of stream and ends approximately 800 ft. south of stream. New structure will be a 44 ft. x 90 ft. bridge (length is estimated). A 20 ft. x 1826 ft. strip of additional right of way will be required on the west or upstream side.
