Report Abstracts

This report documents the results of a second phase of archaeological investigations on site 9GE1761, located on Reynolds Plantation in Greene County, Georgia. Site 9GE1761 is a large multicomponent site with components dating to the Archaic, Late Mississippian, and Historic periods.

Project BRMLB-0805 (1) Carroll County is located on Little Tallapoosa River on Lovvorn Road near Carrollton, Georgia. The purpose of the project is the construction of approaches and detour bridge to be used in conjunction with replacement of existing bridge.

On behalf of the Development Authority of Columbia County, S&ME, Inc. (S&ME), has completed a cultural resource literature review and reconnaissance survey of approximately 271 acres in Appling, Columbia County, Georgia (Figures 1.1 through 1.5).

The purpose of the project, BR0LB-0109(1) Tattnall/Evans Counties, is to replace an existing bridge over Cedar Creek crossing a county road north of Bellville, Georgia. The existing bridge has collapsed and will be removed.

Project BRSLB-1909 (4) Tattnall County: The activity will consist of replacing an existing 20 feet wide x 336 feet long concrete bridge over Beards Creek with a 44-foot-wide x 240-foot-long concrete bridge and constructing the approaches.

Project STPN-008-1(60), Glynn County: Determination of No Undertaking for History and Archaeology. The subject project would consist of the leveling and resurfacing of SR 27 beginning at the Brunswick city limits (M.P. 18.90) and ending at SR 25/US 17 (M.P. 23.01), a distance of 6.61 kilometers.

TRC Environmental Corporation (TRC) was retained by Whitfield County to perform an Cultural Resource Survey of a proposed mountain bike trail to be located along Rocky Face Ridge in Whitfield County, Georgia.

Between September 24 and 28, 2018, Brockington and Associates, Inc. (Brockington) conducted a Phase I cultural resources survey of the 132-acre Fort Valley State University (FVSU) Solar Tract in Peach County, Georgia.

Project MLP-6 (31) Douglas County is located on Sweetwater Creek crossing Thornton Road (State Route 6) between 1-20 and State Route 8 in Douglas County south of Austell, Georgia.

In response to a request from Ignite Wireless, Inc., RESCOM Environmental Corp., has completed a Phase IA archaeological reconnaissance and records check for a proposed telecommunications tower site in Lee County, Georgia (Figure 1).
