In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project FR-034-3(24), Bibb County has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Pl aces (NRHP).

This project is the widening and reconstruction of State Route 75 from US 129/SR 11/SR 75 Alt to County Road 88 (Asbestos Road) for a total of 2.27 miles. The existing roadway consists of two 12-foot lanes with rural shoulders.

This project would construct approaches and a permanent bridge on new alignment over Sugar creek in Telfair county, Georgia), in accordance with Section 404 of Public Law 92-500.

The project begins at the end of the bridge approximate MP 5.86 on SR 520 in Muscogee County and runs south to approximate MP 8 .32, 410 ft south of the intersection of SR 26 in Chattahoochee County on SR 1/520/US 27/280 within the boundary of Fort Benning.

The project begins at the intersection of Lindsay Creek Parkway and First Division Road and runs north approximately 2.9 miles to just south of the 1-85 interchange with SR 1/520/US 27/280.

On Thursday, June 21, 1979, a one-mile section of project #S2196(3) and S0899(5) was the subject of an archaeological survey intended to locate sites considered eligible to nomination to the national register of historic places.

The Georgia Department of Transportation is in the beginning stages of project development for the above noted projects.
