Report Abstracts

This report details the results of Phase II, Task 3 of the Research and Recovery Program for Historic Resources at the Rocky Mountain Pumped Storage Project, Floyd County, Georgia.

This report documents the results of the Phase II archeological testing of ten sites, 9FY77, 9FY80, 9FY82, 9FY83, 9FY84, 9FY86, 9FY94, 9FY106, 9FY108, and 9FY116, that are within the impact zone of the proposed Horton Creek Reservoir project, Fayette County, Georgia.

Brockington and Associates, Inc., recently completed a cultural resources survey of 22,003 acres of United States Army Corps of Engineers property adjacent to Thurmond Lake. The goals of the survey were to locate and assess the significance of archaeological resources within the project areas.

On March 13, New South Associates conducted a Phase I Archaeological Survey of the proposed intersection improvement at Rays Road and East Ponce de Leon Avenue, DeKalb County, Georgia. The project consisted of approximately 0.44 mile of widening along East Ponce de Leon Avenue.

In April, May, and June 1995, a cultural resources survey was conducted on approximately 110 acres of the Oconee National Forest in Greene and Jones Counties, Georgia.

An intensive cultural resources survey was carried out for the Oglethorpe Power Corporation's proposed South Waco substation and access road.

A cultural resources survey for the Hiram Road bridge replacement in Cobb County, Georgia was conducted by Brockington and Associates, Inc. in April 1995. The project corridor encompasses 328 m (1075 It) of Hiram Road, including the bridge crossing Powder Springs Creek.

A cultural resources survey for the proposed Towne Lake Parkway highway improvements, Cherokee County, Georgia, was conducted by Brockington and Associates, Inc. in April 1995.

On October 10-11, 2007, New South Associates conducted an archaeological survey of three proposed to water detention facilities on Old Alabama Road in Bartow County. The project is intended provide water detention facilities during the reconstruction of Old Alabama Road.
