Cultural resources surveys have been completed on 1,356 acres on the Brasstown Ranger District, Chattahoochee National Forest. These surveys have been conducted prior to planned land disturbing activities as timber sales, roads, and wildlife openings in Towns and Union Counties during FY91.

An intensive cultural resources survey was carried out for the Oglethorpe Power Corporation's proposed North Jackson substation, access road and transmission line.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, plans to deepen the Savannah Harbor Navigation Channel. In preparation for the deepening, an underwater archaeological remote sensing survey was completed in 1992.

On June 15, 1977, the author, accompanied by Kent A. Schneider and Roosevelt Garland, initiated an intensive systematic surface collection of the Brown Bottom Site.

Archaic lithic materials exposed by the machine clearing of stumps and logging slash have been systematically collected.
