The survey described here was designed to locate and evaluate archeological sites in the area of a bridge replacement project, along State Route (SR) 23 at the Jenkins/Burke County line (Beaverdam Creek), proposed by the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Original survey on each side of existing SR 135 was considered insufficient due to project length expansion. The current project plan shows the project end at Station 129+80.00, not Station 123+83.83 as originally planned (a difference of 483.83 ft).

The plaza and entrance will be redesigned to open up to Church Street. The two canopies in the Lower Plaza (at Church Street) would be removed. The roof above the MARTA entrance would be extended to create a plaza extension on the upper level.
