In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project EDS-19(55), Sumter/Schley Counties, has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Place

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, and the Georgia Environmental Policy Act of 1991, project STP-OOMS(7), Gordon County, has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion

The project corridor runs for 2,650 linear feet [(ft) 808.3 m] along both sides of Waleska Street, extending south from the S.R. 5 intersection to the intersection/merger of West Main Street and North Street in downtown Canton (Figures I and 2).

The project corridor runs for 3,614 linear feet [eft) 1.1 km) along the north side of Hickory Flat Road, extending southeast from the Marietta Road intersection to approximately 581 ft (177.2 m) beyond the 1-575 overpass, in the Canton city limits (Figures 1 and 2).

New South Associates conducted limited Phase I archaeological survey at 20 bridges located in 11 counties, Atkinson, Coffee, Early, Grady, Lanier, Lee, Mitchell, Seminole, Thomas, Tift, and Worth.

In July 2004, Edwards-Pitman Environmental, Inc. (EPEI) conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of the proposed Cumming Park and Ride Facility project area in Forsyth County, Georgia. The project area encompasses approximately 8.5 acres.

The survey reported here took place in the area of potential effect (APE) of a bridge replacement project proposed by the Georgia Department of Transportation.

In May 2004, Southeastern Archeological Services (SAS) conducted an intensive archeological survey of 176 acres (71.2 ha) of the Chattahoochee National Forest in Habersham and Stephens Counties, Georgia.

Original Description: The proposed project would replace the existing bridge with a new 44-foot wide concrete bridge that is approximately 360 feet in length. The proposed bridge would accommodate two 12-foot travel lanes and two 10-foot shoulders.

The survey reported here was designed to locate archeological sites in the area of potential effect of a bridge replacement project proposed by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) at the crossing of SR 126 over Little Creek in Wheeler County.
