The Port Wentworth Wye tract occupies approximately 6.47 hectares (16 acres) in the northern portion of Chatham County, Georgia. A preliminary plan calls for the realignment of the existing Port Wentworth Lead and the construction of a new wye track to handle southbound traffic.

The proposed project would improve the intersection of State Route 81 and Lake Dow Road by re-aligning Lake Dow Road approximately 1215-ft. east of the current intersection along State Route 81, add left and right turn lanes on all approaches and add a traffic signal to control the intersection.

The proposed project would consist of the resurfacing of SR 3/US 441 beginning at SR 135 then continuing northerly to an end point at CS 787/McNeal Drive in the City of Douglas, Coffee County, Georgia. In addition, ADA compliant ramps would be installed at 27 locations along the project route.
