In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project FLF-450(6), Peach County has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

An archaeological survey and historical research was conducted on the proposed sanitary sewage extension area for the Town of Woodbury, Georgia. The historical research conducted on this project indicated that no events of historical significance are known to have taken place on the study area.

Stream profiles and flood boundaries have been predicted for the 25 year and 100 year flood events in Greenville, Georgia. The proposed wastewater treatment and collection facilities should be located with due consideration to the natural floodway.

The cultural resources survey of the proposed 92 acre "footprint" of the Yazoo Wetlands Mitigation Bank in northern Meriwether County located seven prehistoric archeological sites and evaluated two historic resources.
