Report Abstracts

The proposed project would provide borrow pit/wetland mitigation sites for the construction of the proposed East Statesboro Bypass. Six borrow pit/wetland mitigation sites have been proposed. Sites A, B, and C are located east of C.R.340.

The project involves the widening of U.S. 301 from the existing 5 lane section in Claxton north to 1-16. A 200 foot wide corridor was surveyed for the length of the project.

The proposed project would consist of shoulder paving to the SR 67 Bypass from the SR 67 Bypass and SR 67 intersection westerly to the intersection with SR 73 south of the city of Statesboro. The existing right-of-way within the proposed project area is approximately 30.0 m (100 ft).

The proposed project would consist of the paving of 0.6 m (2 ft) shoulders of SR 46 in Bulloch County. The proposed project would begin at the intersection of SR 73/US 301 (MP 4.33) and would end at the intersection of SR 67 (MP 14.80) in Bulloch County.

The Statesboro Bypass begins at the intersection of U.S. 301/S.R. 73 at C.R. 232 south of Statesboro. The alignment traverses along new location in a southeasterly direction north of and generally parallel to C.R. 233 intersecting Register Road, Lanier Drive, and S.R. 67 all at-grade. At S.R.

The proposed project would consist of shoulder pavinq.to the SR 73 Bypass from the SR 73/US 301 and SR 73 intersection southerly to the intersection with SR 67 east of the city of Statesboro. The existing right-of-way within the proposed project area is approximately 30.0 m (100 ft).

Project BRF-149-1(17) would replace the structurally deficient bridge over Little Lotts Creek on SR 67 in Bulloch County.

The proposed wetland preservation site for Project EDS-555 (1) (4) (5), Bulloch and Jenkins Counties is located on both sides of U.S. 25 approximately .9 kilometer (.5 mile) south of Millen, Georgia.

The proposed project consists of the proposed replacement of the existing bridge on CR 297 at Mann Branch in Bulloch County (see attached map). The existing 22.86 x 7.83 meter (75.0 x 25.7 foot) bridge would be replaced with a 42.67 x 9.8 meter (140.0 x 32.2 foot) bridge.

The field phase of the investigations was completed on March 8, 1976. In addition to covering all exposed surfaces, the field survey included post hole and shovel tests and selective removal of ground litter at seventy locations throughout the total project area.
