Report Abstracts

On September 9,1977, the author conducted an archaeological survey of an area to be affected by expansion of an existing sewage treatment facility located approximately 2.5 miles (4.02 km) southeast of Statesboro, Georgia.

The intensive archaeological testing program at the McIntosh Sugarhouse was funded jointly by Camden County and the Kings Bay Impact Coordinating Committee and administered by the Historic Preservation Section of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

Georgia Power Company proposed construction of a railroad spur to Plant Scherer, a coal-fired power plant near Forsyth, in Monroe County, Georgia. In compliance with federal legislation, a multi-disciplinary study of the proposed project area was undertaken.

In response to a request for assistance from Mr. William F. Christensen of Patchen, Mingledorff and Associates, Inc. (PM&A), an Augusta, Georgia engineering consultant firm, and after coordination with Mr. Thomas H.

In the summer of 1966, from mid-July to mid-September, preliminary excavations were made at the Site, in Burke County, Georgia, by Dr. William E. Edwards, then South Carolina State Archeologist, with a small crew of students from the University of South Carolina.

The proposed project consists of the replacement of the bridge on SR 16 over the Ocmulgee River at the Butts/Jasper county line. The project would begin at approximately MP 17 and would end at approximately 243.8 m (800 ft) east of the bridge.

The proposed project consists of the leveling and resurfacing of SR 16 in Butts County. The project would begin at the bridge over I-75 (MP 1.40) and would end at the Jasper County line.

This project proposes the replacement of the bridge on C.R. 230 over Indian Creek. A corridor 50 feet wide was surveyed for 0.5 mile.

Project IR-75-2(168) is located at the SR 36 and 1-75 interchange. The project consists of replacing the existing bridge, raising the grade for approximately 3000 feet, relocating the ramps and relocating CR 288 and CR 166.
