This paper reports on the survey of a 185.91 acre tract of land located in Richmond Hill, Georgia and owned by. International Paper Realty Corporation of Savannah, Georgia. The survey consisted of a combination of systematic and random attempts to identify cultural material within the tract.

On July 4, 1994, Tropical Storm Alberto hit the Gulf Coast of Florida and moved inland. Although no major damage was crated by the initial surge of the storm, subsequent flooding of Georgia and Northwest Florida caused massive damage to property.

STP-0001-00(076) would relocate a portion of CR 9/Akins Pond Road in Bulloch County, Georgia. The proposed project would realign the southern terminus of CR 9/Akins Pond Road to provide a 90-degree intersection with SR 26/US 80. The shift would require 80 feet of right-of-way on new location.

The proposed project would widen the East Statesboro Bypass from US 25/SR 73 at CR 232, south of Statesboro, to US 301/SR 73, northeast of Statesboro. The existing two-lane facility would be widened to four lanes with a 44 foot depressed grass median.

The dock construction on the Ogeechee River at Hardwicke Estates, Bryan County will not affect any archaeological sites. However, it should be noted that just northeast of the dock site is Seven Mile Bend, the location of extensive prehistoric occupation as well as the historic site of Hardwick.
