The Georgia DOT Staff Archaeologist has conducted an archaeological assessment of the above-referenced projects. This assessment, including field survey and sub-surface testing, located no archaeological sites.

4798 Larson, Lewis H. Proposed Recreation Area for Richmond Hill, Bryan County, Georgia

No aboriginal cultural material was recovered from surface collection nor was any recovered from subsurface screened testing. Historic material was limited to scattered 20th century debris and recent illegal dumping.

4799 Larson, Lewis H. Archaeological Assessment of Two Locations on Tract 1, Parcel 1 on Kilkenny Road, Bryan County, Georgia

An area stretching south from Kilkenny Road for a distance of approximately 300 m (1000 ft.) was examined along a north-south transect with a sequence of about 20 shovel tests spaced every 15 m (50 ft.). No cultural material was encountered in any of the shovel tests.

A cultural resource assessment survey was conducted of the proposed Genesis Point Marina, Bryan County, Georgia from December 1994 to January 1995. The Phase I archaeological investigation included a pedestrian survey of the 20 acre tract with systematic shovel testing at 30 meter intervals.

Archaeological survey and background research was conducted for nine proposed fiber optic regenerator stations, seven areas in Georgia and two in Florida.

The proposed project would consist of a grade separation and bridge construction at the 24th Avenue intersection with the Norfolk Southern Railway in Crisp County. The bridge would be a 345-foot X 45foot structure with two 12-foot travel lanes, curb and gutter, sidewalks and retaining walls.
