Report Abstracts

This report covers cultural resources investigation prior to proposed construction of a third water tower and additional water pipeline for buildings on U.S. Army Camp Frank C. Merrill, in Lumpkin County, north of Dahlonega.

Archaeological survey and evaluation of a proposed highway corridor in Floyd County, Georgia, was conducted by Brockington and Associates, Inc., during December 1992 and January 1993.

In 1988 and 1989, New World Research, Inc. conducted a cultural resources study of a proposed Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Corporation 12.05 mile pipeline corridor in northeastern Georgia. The survey team located and recorded 20 archaeological sites: 13 prehistoric.

This report describes the work conducted for the West Point Lake Cultural Resources Survey and Inventory, a project funded by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District.

Data recovery excavations at GP-HK-08 were designed to gather data suitable for reaching a more complete understanding of the Lamar period occupation at this upland property.

This report is a summary of what is currently known about an abandoned cemetery in Deepstep, Georgia (see Figure 1 for location). The cemetery is on property that will be mined for kaolin by the Thiele Kaolin Company.
