Report Abstracts

This report documents the results of the cultural resources survey of the proposed Louisiana-Pacific 115 kV Substation and Transmission Line, Jackson County, Georgia, for Oglethorpe Power Corporation. No significant cultural resources were encountered within the project area.

In February, 2007 Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc., conducted a Phase I archeological survey of a proposed 1.9 ha (4.6 ac) substation tract in southeastern Cherokee County, Georgia.

In August and September of 1988, Robert S. Webb, Beth Gantt and Keith McRae conducted an intensive coverage cultural resource survey of approximately 404 hectares (1000 acres) in Newton and Walton Counties, Georgia.

During May and June, 1989, Robert S. Webb, Beth Gantt, Sterling Howard and Thomas Pickett conducted evaluative testing at 5 prehistoric sites in Newton and Walton Counties, Georgia.

An intensive, cultural resources survey was conducted of the proposed Hoover Creek Plantation development located adjacent to Armstrong State College in west central Chatham County, Georgia, southwest of Savannah.

This report documents the results of the cultural resources survey of a proposed 30 acre lake and associated borrow areas, and a six acre lake, for the Georgia North Industrial Park, Bartow County, Georgia, for Bartow Engineering & Development Consultants.

An archaeological reconnaissance survey of 4768 acres within the Oconee National Forest, Georgia was conducted for the U.S.D.A. Forest Service. Areas surveyed were on eight Forest Service compartments in Greene, Jones, Putnam, and Jasper Counties.

Archaeological investigations at the Maddox Park site (Vu114) were undertaken during August of 1988 in order to determine the extent and preservation of archaeological remains associated with Atlanta's first municipal dump, in operation between 1884 and 1910.
