Report Abstracts

On June 16 and July 9, 19, 25 and 26, historical and archaeological surveys were conducted of specific sites and areas in and around Alma, Georgia. The following report of findings and recommendations is a product of The History Group, Inc. The historic survey was carried out by Dr. Timothy J.

This report concerns an archeological survey of a portion of the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, Charlton and Ware Counties, Georgia. The survey was conducted under Federal Activities Act Permit 80-GA-026.

On March 31, 1979, an archeological survey was conducted by Linda F. Carnes and Roy S. Dickens, Jr., on the proposed site of a landfill owned by Browning-Ferris Industries.

From September 1986 through April of 1987, Robert S. Webb conducted a reconnaissance level cultural resource survey of 4698 acres in eight compartments (105, 106, 107, 115, 134, 144 and 162) of the Oconee National Forest -in Jasper and Putnam Counties. Georgia.

A cultural resource reconnaissance and inventory was performed at proposed and existing recreation areas, areas scheduled for new development, and areas selected for land exchange between Savannah District and McCormick County, South Carolina.

This report details an archaeological survey of the proposed Northrop substation and transmission line located in Peach and Houston counties, Georgia. This survey located eight previously unknown archaeological sites and four isolated artifact finds.

This cultural resources review involved the reconnaissance level survey of 137 isolated project areas for the Fort Benning. Master Plan, which covers the next five fiscal years of construction on the Reservation.

Four archeological sites were discovered during the intensive cultural resources survey of the proposed Monroe dam and reservoir. Approximately 170 ac (69 ha) were examined.
