Under a continuing services contract with the U.S. Army Infantry Center, Directorate of Public Works, Environmental Division, Fort Benning Military Reservation, Panamerican Consultants, Inc. (PCI) conducted a series of Phase II archaeological investigations at 16 sites within the reservation.

New South Associates (NSA) was tasked with a Phase I Archaeological Survey of 2,561 acres at Richard B. Russell Dam and Lake in Georgia and South Carolina. As a result of the survey, 59 archaeological sites and 20 isolated finds were recorded. Nine of the sites were previously identified.

2015 project description: The proposed project would consist of the replacement of the bridge carrying SR 82 Spur over the North Oconee River (see Figure 1. Project Location Map). The bridge would be replaced at its existing location and an off-site detour would be utilized during construction.

The Jimmy DeLoach Parkway Phase II (P.I. 522790) and the Jimmy DeLoach Parkway at US 80 Interchange (P.I. 0007259) project designs are interconnected, and have an approximately 3,750 foot overlap between US 80 and the CSX Railroad crossing.
