Report Abstracts

From October 15 to 17, Chip Morgan, Staff Archaeologist, conducted an assessment of the significance and extent of archaeological resources on that portion of Colonel’s Island designated for development as discussed in the memo of 10/6/75.

The Archeological Survey of Cobb County is a unit of the county government under the Cobb County Board of Commissioners, and is located in the County Engineer's office.

The following is a summary of the recommendations emerging from the detailed archaeological survey of the study area, conducted by Richard F. Carrillo. Archaeologist for the 1979 study. A complete report of the archaeological survey was submitted with the 1979 study under separate cover.

In April 1996, a cultural resource assessment survey was conducted of an undeveloped tract (approximately 500 acres) above the western floodplain of the Etowah River in Forsyth County, Georgia.

In 2008, the Department of the Army at Fort Benning Military Reservation requested a technical proposal for the archaeological mitigation (Phase III) of Site 9ME63 in Muscogee County, Georgia.
