Report Abstracts

In January 2005, Environmental Services, Inc. (ESI) performed an intensive cultural resource assessment survey of the 391-acre Spring Bluff tract in Camden County, Georgia, on behalf of Summer Beach Development Group.

On November 24, 2002, an archaeological survey of Old Road Bed and Bridge Piers at the CR 290 and Fincherville Road Crossing of Tussahaw Creek was investigated. David W. Ray from Parsons Brinckerhoff submitted the report to the Georgia DNR, Historic Preservation Division.

The City of Americus, Georgia proposes to develop a boardwalk for observation of wetlands at Rest Area #1, located on US 19/280 and Town Creek (Figure 1).

Site 9LS219 is a multi - component archaeological site exhibiting Late Archaic, Woodland, and Mississippian period components. The site, which is bisected by Interstate 16 {I-16), is located on a sandy first terrace approximately 40 meters east of Turkey Creek.

The purpose of the following assessment is to set out a holistic preservation philosophy for the cultural resources associated with CUlS. In addition to park-owned resources, the assessment includes cultural resources contained within reserved estates.

Site 9LG75 is located on the northern edge of Buck Island, which is a complex riverine sand ridge in the midst of the vast Altamaha River swamp (Figures 1 and 2). The ridge, or island, is nearly a kilometer wide in places, is about 5 km long and is the first major ridge from the river.

In 1977, the University of Georgia conducted 10 Phase I archaeological surveys in the Chattahoochee River Park in Fulton County, Georgia. 10 rock shelters were recorded along the river, although none were determined eligible as sites.

On April 19, 1988 Dan Simpkins of the Office of the state Archaeologist conducted a Phase I survey of a proposed waterfowl impoundment area at the Bishop F.

The Historic Preservation Division (HPD) has reviewed the report entitled, "Assessment of No Effect to Archaeological Site 9LS219," submitted concerning the proposed widening of bridges at Turkey Creek, Pughes Creek, and Mercer Creek, Laurens County, Georgia.

On behalf of T-Mobile South, LLC, Terracon is requesting a review of potential impacts to historic properties that may result from the proposed construction of a 250-foot self support telecommunications tower at the above referenced location.
