Site 9LS219 is a multi - component archaeological site exhibiting Late Archaic, Woodland, and Mississippian period components. The site, which is bisected by Interstate 16 {I-16), is located on a sandy first terrace approximately 40 meters east of Turkey Creek.

9430 Gresham, Thomas H., Kirkland, S. Dwight Request for Determination for Eligibility - Site 9LG75 - Altamaha River Swamp

Site 9LG75 is located on the northern edge of Buck Island, which is a complex riverine sand ridge in the midst of the vast Altamaha River swamp (Figures 1 and 2). The ridge, or island, is nearly a kilometer wide in places, is about 5 km long and is the first major ridge from the river.

In 1977, the University of Georgia conducted 10 Phase I archaeological surveys in the Chattahoochee River Park in Fulton County, Georgia. 10 rock shelters were recorded along the river, although none were determined eligible as sites.
