An archaeological survey was conducted of ca. 42 acres of the W. Mack Thompson tract in northeastern Stephens County, Georgia for Hayes, James, & Associates, of Norcross, GA in December, 2005 by the author.

This survey covered 105 acres on three tracts in Compartments 201 and 203 in adjacent parts of the two counties. It was conducted in late December 1982. One prehistoric and two recent historic sites were found on the National Forest.

A cultural resources reconnaissance investigation was conducted by the author on the proposed site of the SCFRC Atmospheric Deposition Testing Laboratory, at the Georgia Forestry Commission's National Tree Seed / USFS Fire Lab facility, near Macon, Georgia.

A cultural resources survey was conducted on portions of five compartments of National Forest land in Walker, Chattooga, and Gordon Counties, Georgia, prior to timber operations such as thinning, clear cutting, tree removal, and road construction activities.

This report covers 272 acres within Compartment 518 on the Chestatee Ranger District near the Suches Community in southern Union County. The area surveyed included the vicinity of the proposed Sheep Knob Road and adjacent timber sale areas.

This volume serves two functions. First, it is a status report to show the cultural heritage activities the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests have conducted over the past 16 years.
