A cultural resource survey was conducted over the 1.53 mile length of Woody Creek Road around the lower slopes of Black Mountain. No sites were found on the steep slopes or in the two disturbed saddle areas in the roadway. Clearance is recommended.

A Cultural Resource Survey was conducted on a 17-acre parcel near the Pocket Recreation Area, proposed for a land exchange with Ed Gravitt in the northernmost extension of Floyd County, Georgia, on March 11, 1982.

A Cultural Resources Inventory Survey was conducted on the 1,372 acres of Compartment 129, Oconee National Forest, Jones County, Georgia, in 1980 by John Barrett. Six sites were found and revisited by Jack Wynn in 1981, at which time another site was located.

A Cultural Resources Survey was conducted in April 1982, on the route of Nester Branch Road (FS 60), in northern White and Habersham counties, and an additional 62 acres in the same area. No significant cultural resources were found in the right of way or in the additional area surveyed.

This cultural resource survey covers 257.5 acres near Hanna Branch, in northern Putnam and Jasper Counties for the proposed Lynch land exchange, examined in March and May 1982. An unmarked cemetery and three heavily disturbed late 19th-early 20th century house sites were found on the tract.

A Cultural Resources Survey was conducted March 18, 1982, on two small parcels on Jones Creek near the Nimblewill community in western Lumpkin County, involved in a land exchange with Dr. Harvey Howell. Total acreage was 2.7 acres.

A Cultural Resources Survey was conducted over the 1.6 mile Extension #2 to Stamp Creek Road (FS 25) in southwestern Rabun County on February 4, 1982.

A Cultural Resources Survey was conducted on April 9, 1982, over a 40-acre parcel of land located in central Union County, Georgia, near Mulky Gap. This portion of land is involved in the proposed Vaughn Colwell Exchange Tract.

In February 17 - June 7, 1982, cultural resource surveys were conducted on three proposed roadways in the Armuchee Ranger District. Each of the roads required access across private property to enter the Chattahoochee National Forest.

The cultural resource survey of 400-acre tract surrounding Vogel State Park, Compartment 390, Brasstown District, Chattahoochee National Forest, was conducted December 14-17, 1983, by the author. The addendum was made in October when additional data became available on the petroglyph site.
