The Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests recently completed a survey of 229 acres for the proposed Georgia Mountain Orchard woodland restoration project and prescribed burn on the Chattooga River Ranger District in Habersham and Stephens Counties, Georgia.

During December 2007, Edwards-Pitman Environmental, Inc. (EPEI) conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of project changes to the original Parker Road/Millers Chapel Road from State Route (SR) 20 to Flat Shoals Road improvements corridor.

From August 6 to August 24, 2007, Brockington and Associates, Inc. conducted archaeological testing at nine sites on the Granite Hill tract in Hancock County, Georgia (Figures 1 and 2). This work for conducted for Rinker Materials Corp.

Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) wishes to develop a 100-acre tract as a vehicle parking area, part of the overall Colonels Island Terminal. The tract is located on Colonels Island on the south side of SR 25/US 17 in an area containing small patches of wetlands.
