On May 28 and 29 and August 12, 2008, New South Associates conducted a Phase I Archaeological Survey along three proposed trail segments of the North Oconee Greenway.

Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. (SAS) conducted a Phase I intensive archeological survey of a proposed new alternative bypass of US 27/SR 1 around the crossroads community of Suttons Corner in eastern Clay County for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).

The proposed project would widen the existing sidewalk on Spring Road over the CSX Railroad to accommodate a multi-use trail (Figures 1 and 2). A pedestrian bridge would be constructed north of, and adjacent to, the existing bridge over the CSX railroad for the trail.

In August of 2007, Brockington and Associates, Inc. completed a Phase I archaeological resources survey of the proposed Windy Hill / Macland Road Connector corridor in Cobb County, Georgia. This work was performed under contract with Greenhorne & O'Mara, Inc.

This project investigated the proposed Newnan Bypass between Turkey Creek Road to SR 16, south of Newnan, in Coweta County, Georgia.

A Phase I cultural resources survey of the proposed Tired Creek Reservoir in Grady County, Georgia was conducted to locate and identify cultural resources within the project area and assess resource significance based on National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) criteria (36 CFR Part 60.4).

Phase II archeological testing was conducted on sites 9GR59, 9GR78, 9GR80, 9GR84, 9GR86, 9GR87, and 9GR89 from February 4 through April 4, 2008.

Site 9GE2178 is a Lamar period Mississippian artifact scatter on a ridge top edge, ranging in height between 462 and 472 feet above mean sea level (141-144 m amsl).
