Report Abstracts

During July and August 2007, Edwards-Pitman Environmental Inc. (EPEI) conducted Phase II archaeological testing at six sites, 9GE2376, 9GE2379, 9GE2380, 9GE2381, 9GE2382, and 9GE2385, for the proposed Greensboro Bypass in Greene County, Georgia.

The proposed project would consist of a proposal to construct a parallel roadway to a portion of U.S. 78 beginning at the intersection of Rockbridge Road/East Park Place and Sharps Trail and ending at Davis Road.

The proposed project was originally included within the limits of GDOT Project CSHPP-0007-00 (535).

In September 2008, Edwards-Pitman Environmental, Inc. (EPEI) conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of the proposed Horizon Parkway Park and Ride project area. The proposed project consists of the construction of a Park and Ride facility along Horizon Parkway.

Between July 14 and 18, 2008, TRC conducted a Phase I archaeological survey and Phase II archaeological testing for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, which intends to develop land south of Perry for the proposed Go Fish Georgia Visitor Center and support facilities.

This report presents the results of an historical and geophysical evaluation URS Corporation conducted at two historic cemetery sites for the Environmental Management Division, 78 CEG/CEV, Robins Air Force Base, Houston County, Georgia.

The Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests recently completed a survey of 34 acres for a proposed commercial harvest on the Oconee Ranger District in Jasper County.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) proposes to construct a retention pond and a new employee parking area at Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge in McIntosh County. The projects are located adjacent to the Refuge's Visitor Center and Maintenance Complex.

In August 2008, Edwards-Pitman Environmental, Inc. (EPEI) conducted an archaeological survey at the site of the proposed bridge replacement at CR 23/Davis Academy Road over Big Indian Creek in Morgan County, Georgia. The total length of the project is 0.37 miles.

In 2007, the Department of the Army at Fort Benning Military Reservation requested a technical proposal for the archaeological mitigation (Phase III) of Site 9ME81 in Muscogee County, Georgia.
