Report Abstracts

From July 3 through September 26, 1980, archeologists from Commonwealth Associates Inc., conducted extensive testing and data recovery operations at three sites (9EB75, 9EB91, and 9EB382) near the mouth of Van Creek in the proposed Richard B. Russell Reservoir, Elbert County, Georgia.

During the summer of 1981, an archaeological field school was conducted by the Laboratory of Archaeology, Georgia State University at the Fork Creek Mountain site (9Da18), a prehistoric soapstone quarry in Dekalb County, Georgia.

On Sept. 27th, incident to sidewalk removal and construction being carried out in Decatur by the Downtown Development Authority's Streetscape Project, Gordon Midgette advised Dr.

Between mid-December 1985 and the end of March 1986, Darlene Roth & Associates, Inc. conducted a cultural resource survey of five proposed routes and route segments in three areas of metropolitan Atlanta.

The project area is located in DeKalb and Rockdale Counties, Georgia in the north central portion of the state. It is approximately 4 kilometers southeast of Lithonia (see Figure 1). The 505 hectare (1250 acre) survey area is the proposed site of a mall and other commercial development.

The purpose of this document is to outline the approach that will be taken to mitigate the adverse impacts anticipated as a result of planned Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority's (MARTA) construction on two sections of the Nancy Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

From January 18 through February 6, 1989, Robert S. Webb, Beth Gantt and Keith McRae conducted an intensive coverage cultural resources survey of approximately 315 hectares (780 acres) in Fayette County, Georgia for Law Environmental, Inc..

The pre-engineering survey of 1975-76, conducted by Marvin T. Smith and recorded by Edward I. Dittmar, discovered thirteen heretofore unknown archeological sites. The work of 1977, conducted by Donald L. Crusoe, added one other site for a total of fourteen. These sites are listed in Table No.

No evidence of either prehistoric or historic occupation was encountered in this survey.
